Beginner's Infant Massage Course
Details
This course is designed to run for up to 60 mins per
session, depending on the age and attention span of
infants, and will allow you time to practice and
consolidate your techniques.
Session 1:
Arms and Legs – Introduction to massage, the use of
appropriate oils and creams, respecting your infant’s
needs, starting with arms and legs routine.
Session 2:
Chest and Abdomen – How massage helps with bonding,
recap the arms and legs routine, continuing with chest
and abdomen routine, treating common ailments.
Session 3:
Back – Benefits of infant massage, Recap arms and legs,
chest and abdomen routines, continuing with back
routine.
Session 4:
Face – Starting with face routine. Putting the whole
treatment together! Recap arms and legs, chest and
abdomen, back routine with a verbal recap of the moves
with the group. Open discussion/ Q&A session to complete
the course.
The course is designed for all
parents, soon-to-be parents, primary carers, or other
important people in the infant’s life such as
grandparents. The course can be run for the following
groups (or combination of):
- Expectant mothers
(with baby-sized dolls)
- 6 weeks ~ 18 month
olds
- 18 months ~
preschool age
- primary school
children
- secondary school
children - one to one sessions only
Group classes are available subject
to advance deposit and finding a suitable venue for up
to 8 parents with infants up to primary school age, OR
one to one sessions can be arranged privately.
On the course you need to bring:
- A baby-sized doll
(expectant mothers) or your infant
- A pen to make
notes on the handouts provided
- A cushion for
yourself to sit on, (if required)
- 1 soft towel large
enough for your infant to lie on for the
treatment, (which will take place on the
floor)
- A spare nappy (if
removing the existing one for the
treatment)
- A small toy or
item e.g. muslin, that your infant
particularly feels a connection with

The Beginner's Infant Massage training course teaches primary
carers to be able to massage their infants using
a simple sequence including: arms, legs, chest,
tummy, back, and face. The Beginners course also
includes theory lessons including common infant ailments
such as colic. A
certificate of attendance will be issued,
allowing the parent to massage their infant
using the techniques they have learned until the
child turns 16!
On the course you will receive:
- A 50ml bottle of
complimentary Holistic Healing Hands
massage oil (olive oil blended 2 parts
with calendula 1 part) at the start of
the course
- 4 sessions of
training with a plastic folder for
handouts
- Practical hands on
training and consolidation of the
routine from the previous sessions
- Theory lessons
including: the use of appropriate oils
and creams, respecting your infant’s
needs, how massage helps with bonding,
treating common ailments, benefits of
infant massage
